The Board Game Café

To bring back the conviviality of the old days and to make a very current dream come true, we have brought together in the same space several things we believe in. The Board Games Café in Vila do Conde, called "A Jogar é que a gente se entender" (Playing is how we understand each other), designed for the blog and concept we created a few years ago, will host: board games (of course); art; music; stories and gastronomy.

In this welcoming space we will share our personal collection of over 2800 board games to play with friends and family, while snacking on delicious treats prepared with care and lots of flavor.

​

No age should be left out, we have games for kids and adults in our "Games Cave" and the only thing we ask for here is Fun and Satisfaction... and those will be our success meters!

O Café de Jogos de Tabuleiro

A recuperar o convívio dos velhos tempos e a realizar um sonho bem actual,  juntámos no mesmo espaço várias coisas em que acreditamos. O Café de Jogos de Tabuleiro em Vila do Conde que tem por nome "A Jogar é que a gente se entende", pensado para o blog e conceito que criámos há alguns anos atrás, vai hospedar: jogos de tabuleiro (claro); arte; música; histórias e gastronomia.

Neste espaço acolhedor vamos partilhar a nossa colecção pessoal de mais de 2800 jogos de tabuleiro para se jogarem entre amigos e família, enquanto se petisca coisinhas boas preparadas com carinho e muito sabor.

Nenhuma idade deve ficar de fora, temos na nossa "Gruta dos Jogos" para miúdos e para graúdos e a única coisa que se pede aqui é Divertimento e Satisfação... e esses serão os nossos medidores de sucesso!

About Us

We are Dina and Manel, both from Vila do Conde. We met in London, though we have been neighbors our whole lives. After years of emigration in England, we returned to Portugal with a dream.

​

Today we are a family that shares the house with a large collection of board games. Our love for these "friends" was part of the good understanding we have as a couple and sometimes it is through playing that we understand each other.

​

We value the time we spend together and games are a great excuse for those minutes or hours of socializing, between the two of us, with friends, and family. We have games of all sizes and durations, so there is always an opportunity to play!

​

We truly believe that board games, in addition to being educational, promote interpersonal interaction, with room for healthy competition, conversation, laughter and lots of fun. There is no way to play these games sitting in front of a screen or on a cell phone, which is why we say that they help break down barriers and strengthen bonds.
