A competitive miniatures table game, deeply thematic and very detailed, set in the dark salons of imperial power.

In Byzantion, he assumes the role of one of four great Demoi, powerful factions that influenced the destiny of the Eastern Roman Empire during the reign of the Autocrator Ioustinianos. During new rounds, players face a series of new random historical events (which guarantees replayability), revealed at the beginning of the match, which allows for long-term strategic planning and political decision-making.

At the beginning of each round, factions compete to influence the Emperor's decisions. Through a system of pujas, the players tried to influence Justiniano by having one of the possible responses to each crisis:

"Should we pay a ransom to the pirates who roam our coasts or form a fleet to suppress them? Should we send the clergy to pacify a rebellion or unleash the army to kill it in blood?"

Each decision redefines the course of the Empire and its own history. Once a path is chosen, all factions must contribute to its execution. Success rewards the most committed faction; failure punishes the least. Your capacity for anticipation, adaptation and manipulation will give you points of victory and determine your legacy.

To confront the challenges that arise, you will recruit renowned personalities and specialists of the time from different trades. "Build your engine" and obtain the necessary resources to face the challenges that the story will reveal.

But this is the Byzantine court, where the daggers are as sharp in the shadows as they are on the battlefield.

Use diplomacy to align rival interests with your interests.

Use espionage to strategically outwit your enemies.

Forge alliances, break them and attack again at the right moment.

At the end of the game, reveal the secret objectives you have accomplished, adding their value to your accumulated Victoria Points. Only then will it be revealed that the government faction really behind the fleece, the invisible hand that shaped the Emperor's will and guided the destiny of Byzantium.
