Description
With the right dice roll in LAMA Rock & Roll, you can get rid of the number cards — but you’ll need to stop at the right time before you possibly fail and rack up a lot of negative points. You can even discard these points later, but you’ll need a perfect number roll or a lucky triple llama.
In more detail, the game lasts a number of rounds, and at the start of each round you are dealt seven "black-backed" cards that show a llama and the numbers 1 to 6 in a "llama row". You are given six cards from the deck—which consists of llama cards and cards numbered 1 to 6—and place them in front of you. On a turn, you roll all three dice or forfeit the round; if you roll the dice, then:
If one or more dice match the cards in front of you, you may discard one card for each matching die.
If you throw three muds, you may discard a point token you have collected.
If none of the dice match the cards in your row, you will have to take one of the cards from the llama row that matches and add it to your display.
If none of the dice match the cards in your row or the cards in the mud row, you must pick up all the remaining cards in the mud row, ending the round.
If you quit the round, turn the remaining cards face down and skip the following rounds. The round ends when the mud row is empty, when someone discards their last card, or when all players have resigned. (When all but one player has resigned, the last player can continue playing as long as he wants, but if no dice match the cards in his row, he automatically bursts and collects all the cards in the mud row.) He then looks at the cards remaining in front of him and accumulates points: 10 points if he has one or more mud cards, and points equal to the value of the card, with each number card counting only once. If you have discarded all your cards, you may discard a point marker you collected earlier. (Tokens are worth either 1 or 10 points, and you can always exchange ten 1 tokens for one 10 token.)
Play several rounds until one player has accumulated 40 or more points.
